CNC Forming

Metal forming is a generic term that can include a broad range of manufacturing processes, but it mainly consists of bending metal sheets into the desired geometry. The science behind the plasticity of metal-formed products is complex, with factors such as strain hardening, temperature control, flow stress and ductility factored into the metal bending and folding processes.

SW Metaform currently operates 8 Amada CNC bending machines and soon investing in an automated metal folding cell. The range extends from 35 tons to 130 tons on our machines. These units offer exceptional reliability and predictable set-up times, thus enabling short batch runs. In today’s high-performance environment, sheet metal folding machines are only as good as the high-tech software that drives them.

We use software which predefines the bending and its sequence, avoiding programming on the controller resulting in high productivity and lower wastage in terms of shop floor press brake time. It also stimulates the bending process detecting collisions. This results in lower wastage and manufacturing at a faster speed.

The engineering team at SW Metaform is highly experienced and expert in matching customer requirements to our sheet metal folding machinery.
